The Enrollment Process

The enrollment process may vary between each of the home high schools.
  • Contact the counselor or other designated administrator at the student's home school and request that they write a letter of recommendation and permission for the student who wishes to be considered for acceptance at PRLC.
  • Obtain an application for PRLC from the home school.
  • Complete the student/parent segment of the application and return it to the home school counselor.
  • The counselor will then complete the home school segment of the application, assemble the necessary documentation as described in the application and submit all of the required documents to PRLC.
  • Upon receipt of the documents, PRLC will contact the applicant and the applicant's parents to arrange for an exploratory interview. During this interview all of the requirements and expectations for acceptance and attendance at PRLC will be presented.
  • The contract for the recommended plan of study, the contract for attendance and behavioral expectations, and the school procedures will be discussed and signed by the student and their parents.
  • Findings from the exploratory interview will be submitted for review to the PRLC admissions committee.
  • A letter indicating the decision of the committee will be mailed to the student and their parents. If the student is accepted, a start date will be indicated.
  • A $125.00 fee for supplies must be paid to PRLC before the student may attend.
  • After PRLC has been in session for two weeks in fall or spring semester, no student applicant who is not in regular attendance at their home high school will be considered for enrollment.
  • After the two week deadline, any student who wishes to transfer to PRLC will be considered for enrollment only if there is classroom space available that will allow for a match of their current schedule.
  • Students who have previously been accepted and/or is in attendance at PRLC and, for whatever reason, have been dropped will not be considered for re-enrollment until all new applicants have been processed.
